Cold Plunge - a brief exposure to cold. This can be a small pool with ice cold water, snow or a simple cold shower. It causes a mild oxidative stress which prepares the body to resist greater stress. It is believed to supercharge the system, improve breathing and muscle tone and decrease fatigue.

Cold water is known to have an analgesic affect to help relieve pain. In addition to the physical benefits, cold water bathing is also known to stimulate the hypothalamus in the brain and release endorphins, which produce the ‘feel-good factor’. Reduces body temperature, helps stimulate the thyroid and helps maintain a healthy heart rate.
